Job Description

We are looking for a Data Architect to design, optimize and maintain common conceptual and logical database models for insurance content production and content management systems. You will work with solutions architects and application teams to deliver flexible and extensible data systems across the insurance and rating content workflow from data ingest to insurance analytics and modeling to product generation and distribution. This will require analysis of system requirements, data migration and on experience with SQL and NoSQL.

Responsibilities

* Maintain the data architecture roadmap, aligning data with the target technical landscape.

* Documenting enterprise data architectures and environments in order to maintain a current and accurate view of global data landscape.

* Collaborate with technology team members, address data related problems in reference to systems integration and compatibility

* Establish processes for governing the identification, collection, and use of corporate metadata as well as creating methods for tracking such data for quality, completeness, redundancy, and improvement.

* Design and develop solution and information architectures for projects. This may include the production or review and approval of logical and physical data models.

* Identifying and developing opportunities for data reuse, migration, or retirement.

* Develop database solutions to store and retrieve insurance content information

* Analyze structural requirements for existing and new software and applications

* Work with the application development teams to create conceptual data models and data flows

* Develop best practices for data coding to ensure consistency within the system

* Update and optimize local and metadata models

* Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions

* Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts

* Improve system performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting and integrating new elements

* Optimize new and current database systems

Qualifications

* Proven work experience as a Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Analyst or similar role

* Experience working with Public Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP). AWS experience preferred.

* Understanding of XSD and JSON schema and the use and definition of data services using these.

* Experience with NoSQL database (Hive, HBase, ElasticSearch etc preferred).

* Proven experience in building self-service data platforms for BI and Data Visualization and some proficiency awareness with BI & Analytical tools (Tableau, Qlik, Power BI)

* Experience in defining and delivering large-scale, multi-year data transformation roadmaps in a highly matrixed structure.

* 5+ years of hands-on experience with physical and relational data modeling

* In-depth understanding of database structure principles

* Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements

* Design and implement data modeling solutions using relational, dimensional, and NoSQL databases

* Expert knowledge of metadata management and related tools

* Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques

* Proven analytical and problem-solving skills

* BSc in Computer Science, Data Science or relevant field
