Position Overview

Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a specific shop facility to ensure alignment with Equipment and Area Managers vision and objectives. This includes management of local technicians, repair processes, safety awareness and an effective preventative maintenance program for the fleet in a defined area. 

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

      •  Coordinates between mechanics, vendors and dispatch to maintain equipment and shop  supplies.


  • Utilize CMMS system to accurately track and maintain work request and work orders.

  •  Manage and ensure accurate equipment inspections as needed.

    • Maintain and work with operations to ensure thorough daily inspections are being conducted.

    • Conduct monthly inspections on equipment and communicate results to Operations Management and Equipment Manager.



  • Manage and maintain all mechanics

    • Includes ensuring accurate time card completion and data entry.

    • Effectively schedule all mechanics as required by work load and needed repairs. 



  •      Creating purchase orders utilizing Proactis


  •      Compiling weekly reports, ie; fuel etc..


  •       Self-starter with initiative to work independently

•           Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety standards. 


  •       Strong computer skills with an attention to detail


  •       Ability to work under pressure in deadline driven environment.

  •       Strong knowledge of various parts used for equipment, plants and vehicles

  •       Update and maintain PM hours in CMMS and various Excel spreadsheets

  •       Problem solving abilities

  •       Proficient Skill using Excel, Word and data entry spreadsheets

  •      Work schedule will be a combination of administrative duties and hands on repairs to equipment

  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally.

  • Ability to learn procurement systems and processes.

  • Driver’s License with less than 6 points.

Education and/or Experience: 

High School diploma or GED.

 

Language Skills:    

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

•           Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

•           Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

•           Ability to use basic hand tools

                       

Mathematical Skills:    

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty to CRH guidelines

Must pass Pre-employment physical, drug screen, criminal background check and driving record review.

Must be willing to work flexible schedules including: nights, weekends and holidays when necessary

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety

Regular and timely attendance is required

 

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in both indoor and outdoor settings. Must comply with all work rules, including those that pertain to safety and health.

 

Special Needs:  Must be able to utilize personal protective equipment; hard hats, appropriate foot protection, back support belts, gloves, respirators, both disposable and air fed.

 

Travel Requirements:   

Travel may be required to other facilities & vendors or to pick up a part; usually local.
