Responsibilities
New York Crane and Services, a Division of Dematic, is seeking an experienced Crane Service Technician to join our team. The job of the NY Crane Service Technician is to execute and support the inspections, repairs and installation efforts at our customer’s sites.
Core responsibilities include:
Inspections
Installation
Repairs
On-call service work
Modernizations and upgrades
Provide on-time, highly technical problem diagnosis and resolution for customer issues
Based on customer system diagnosis and needs analysis, recommend additional work and services
Qualifications
Ability to travel up to 60% of the time within the region (no overnight travel).
2 year degree/certification in a relevant field or 4 years industry experience
Strong electrical skills are preferred – AC & DC magnetic controls – AC variable frequency drive
Solid mechanical skills
Ability to work in the field at 20’ to 75’ heights
Ability to operate various personal lifts
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Be highly organized and work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills
Build and maintain customer rapport through concern and knowledge of customer requirements
Ability to use Windows based computer systems. Aware of customer equipment demands operationally and growing business needs
Promotion of additional services and equipment to service those demands and needs
Processes knowledge/experience to recognize when problems surface and when problems are looming, and bring the correct people together to proactively resolve them
Protect the interests of New York Crane and Services. when dealing with customers and vendors
Additional Duties:
Fabrication and welding
Mechanical assembly
Electrical assembly
Preparing of field service reports
Sharing of field service reports with customers
Determine customer system parts needs and recommend appropriate parts to customers
