Great Lakes Cheese is seeking a Sustainability & Communications Intern from May 2022 - August 2022

Job Responsibilities

• Improve data collection efforts and explore sustainability reporting tools to enhance processes
• Improve recycling and waste diversion efforts across all facilities
• Assist in ongoing renewable energy projects and explore new opportunities
• Work with the project and procurement teams to improve sustainability sourcing practices
• Assist in the preparation of sustainability-related social-media posts, internal communications, and customer responses
• Assist the sustainability team in developing a sustainability report
• Support the communications and HR teams as needed
• All GLC interns are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

Required Education and Experience

• Current college student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Communications, or related field.
• Year in school: Junior/Senior.
• Must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

• Strong attention to detail, data analysis, and reporting skills.
• Strong communication, presentation, and team skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Self-motivated with a high level of initiative, able to work well independently.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in an office setting.
