The Impact You'll Make

In this role, you assist in the development, implementation, administration, and evaluation of strategies, plans, programs, and procedures designed to provide equitable and competitive employee compensation. The work is primarily consultative in nature, and elements of the work include job analysis and documentation, salary survey participation and market data analyses, interpretation of regulatory guidelines, and creation/interpretation of internal policies/standards within the context of the compensation function.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Collaborate with the Manager of Total Rewards on a variety of projects, including program design, analysis, budgeting, implementation of new programs, and equity. Perform deep analysis on effectiveness and competitiveness of existing compensation programs and model potential impact of alternatives.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual market review analysis process to identify pay trends/market movement and/or validate that current pay practices are competitive and cost-effective and develop recommendations for market-based pay increases and changes to current pay practices and administrative tools.
  • Develop, update, communicate and interpret policies, procedures, training materials, administrative tools, and/or general communications in support of pay systems/programs/processes.
  • Collaborate with Managers on position development, job classification, and job description activities for assigned client group/function in accordance with internal standards and applicable regulatory requirements, including consulting with Managers in developing/revising job descriptions and establishing appropriate salary grades.
  • Analyze internal and external salary statistics and recommend, develop and implement appropriate employee compensation structures based on this information.
  • Provide consultative advice and guidance with respect to compensation concepts, standards, and practices to educate management and professional HR staff, administer policies, assist with reorganization/restructuring activities, ensure adherence to professional standards/regulatory requirements and facilitate continuous improvement in compensation-related approaches and activities.
  • Partner with Recruiting Team to review new positions in anticipation of recruitment to ensure appropriate classification. Based on position-specific information, determine if an existing description can be used for classification. As necessary, examine new descriptions to confirm accuracy in reflecting current roles, responsibilities, and requirements.
  • Collaborate with Total Rewards Manager and Human Resources teams on compensation program initiatives, change management, implementation, and communication efforts as needed.
  • Effectively partner with Human Resources and Business clients to manage, consult and lead the effort to resolve compensation issues.
  • Create and apply employee incentive plans to maintain and attract talent. Work in partnership with the Human Resources team to ensure that compensation and bonus programs are market competitive.
  • Use published or conduct ad hoc surveys to obtain and analyze market pay rates. Make recommendations on appropriate pay levels. Prepare reports on findings and handle administrative steps to formalize recommendations.
  • Review manager's request for salary review and make pay level determinations. This includes reviewing job descriptions, conferring with managers, evaluating jobs, and preparing written reports on findings. Communicate with stakeholders regarding the result of compensation work.
  • Maintain records of both bonus and long-term incentive programs.
  • Provide analytics support and data analysis on projects and human resources metrics.
  • Administer base pay, bonus, and long-term incentive programs, including annual focal review and bonus cycles.
  • Develop and document procedures to streamline processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Coordinate with HR to educate managers.
  • Work with Human Resources to ensure that the HRIS meets compensation needs and is updated to reflect changes to salary structures, bonus programs, etc.
  • Review and maintain time-off accrual program to ensure market competitiveness.
  • Work with Managers and Human Resources to maintain an effective Employee Rewards and Recognition Program. Perform related duties as required.

Required Experience and Competencies:


  • Three to five years of experience in analysis, design, and/or administration of compensation programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.

Preferred Talent Assets:

  • Compensation experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience working with a multi-state company.
