Customer Service Representative- Remote- Chicago Area

At Waste Management, we are looking for people who are committed to listening to our customers, understanding their needs, and providing solutions.

Job Duties: As a Customer Service Representative, you will manage a high volume of incoming calls from customers while navigating through multiple systems, to answer questions and resolve issues. Excellent customer service, typing, and software skills, are used daily.

Customer Service Representatives must have the ability to communicate effectively and professionally, in a conversational manner, within a fast-paced work environment.

To ensure we can handle our customers' needs, our employees must be punctual, dependable and reliable.

Requirements:


  • Ability to quickly access information and make decisions

  • Ability to effectively multi-task and navigate multiple systems

  • Excellent written, verbal, and keyboarding skills

  • Proficient with MS Software programs (Outlook, Word)

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Ability to complete a mandatory 6-week paid training

  • Customer Service experience is a plus

Location:

The safety of our employees, both current and future, is top priority. Currently, all of our representatives are working remotely. Candidates who are selected for this position will work remotely. A requirement to working remotely is the ability to do the job in a designated work area in your home.

Our new hires will be provided with all computer/laptop components, including a keyboard, mouse and a headset to work remotely.

To work remotely, the following will be required:

Appropriate workspace in your home, private/semi-private home-office space free of distractions and background noise.

Hardwired high-speed internet (broadband internet with a speed of 50 mbps or faster).

A workspace with adequate furnishings (e.g., a desk and chair) and lighting.

Work Hours: Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, and some 1/2 day Saturdays. You will have a steady, full-time schedule that falls within those hours.

Training: Our employees benefit from an extensive paid training program to learn policies and procedures and receive on-the-job coaching and training. This allows our employees to be well-prepared to assist our customers.
