Edelman is looking for a Senior Resource Director to join our US wide Resource Management team. This central role will lead resource management for our Corporate practice - and will be part of a larger, US resource management team.

What we do

Resource Management (RM) is the art and science of the efficient and effective deployment of our firm's resources against our client deliverables. The goal of the RM function is to proactively engage with our employees, gain meaningful understanding of their skills, experience and aspirations and identify the right opportunities for them. The Senior Resource Director role will be responsible for managing resources across our Corporate practice.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our staffing resources, providing accurate and insightful reporting and analysis to leadership and project teams, identifying areas of opportunities, and providing strategic guidance and thoughtful staffing suggestions to client leaders.

This is the right role for you if you have strong communication and people skills, command a strong understanding of project requirements and finance fundamentals; understand employee skillsets background, development needs and career goals; and effectively balance workforce planning. You and your team will be the main efficiency drivers in the Corporate practice.

Responsibilities:


    • Lead partnership efforts with project managers and client leads in coordinating staffing logistics for projects, ensuring staffing requests are fulfilled in an efficient and cost-effective manner

    • Ensure that all projects and teams have resources needed to deliver effectively

    • Flag and advise on issues/gaps to appropriate leadership and help problem solve

    • Initiate independent contractor or external hiring solutions when internal staffing solutions do not exist

    • Review resource capacity to ensure optimal utilization

    • Report on utilization and other staffing metrics to leadership on a regular cadence, highlighting trends, opportunities, and concerns.

    • Develop relationships across the organization to understand skill sets, passion points and current workload for all talent

    • Optimize utilization across your assigned specialty population by making staffing decisions in support of the deployment strategy for the business area

    • Identify employees with current or near-term availability to client assignments that align with their skills, professional goal, and/or staffing preferences

    • Maintain high level of proficiency in all resource management tools and relevant Edelman technology resources including Microsoft PSA and Smartsheets

    • Maintain an understanding of the business, markets, and service offerings within assigned specialty pool and across Edelman

    • Proactively review staffing data for assigned resources and develop meaningful insights on trends, forecast, opportunities for improvement, and areas of concern

    • Collaborate effectively with your fellow RM partners across the US - including Finance, Recruiting, and HR Business Partners -to provide seamless Talent support to the business

Skills and Experience:


    • BA or BS undergraduate degree

    • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of Project or Resource Management in Consulting, PR, or professional services environment, preferred

    • Strong critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills

    • Strong conflict resolution skills, including the abilities to negotiate and influence across teams

    • Strong written and oral communication skills
