To measure castings using hard point gauges, electronic gauges, or appropriate measuring devise to ensure castings meet the customer requirements. To repair castings using various techniques to ensure each casting meets customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
Use appropriate gauges to determine whether the casting is acceptable, rejectable, or in need of repair.
Record gauge readings to be placed on file, and/or apply assigned inspection identification to the casting.
Repair the casting either by stoning, belting, pressing, bending, or twisting as appropriate to ensure and then re check usage appropriate measuring device.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Adhere to and enforce proper safety/security procedures and protocol.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Experience: 6 to 12 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications/Licenses: None
Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, PEI's and Work Instructions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to use a calculator. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
