Job Description:
Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a leader of data health and operations within the Data & Integration Services team to own operations across Blizzard's Global Data Integration Services platform! Our team is responsible for all data ingestion, management, routing and storage across Blizzard games. We need someone who can help shape the future of our data management and live operations, taking on the responsibility for streamlining our development, coordination, and operations processes.

The ideal candidate is comfortable with ambiguity and works well with technical teams. This role requires someone who is at ease jumping into challenges with little to know prior knowledge beforehand. The candidate would have experience managing and developing data-oriented or dependent platforms. You will be expected to evolve existing processes and build the team to support a rapidly expanding environment that is constantly adding new data sources from games and services and data applications for these teams.

Responsibilities:

• Assume operational ownership of Data Integration Services platforms and manage the relationships required for a healthy data operations organization.
  
  


• Coordinate with game teams, services organizations, and data teams to optimize all technology efforts around data operations and support.
  
  


• Incorporate feedback from game and service teams to develop and execute a plan to govern data across various data environments and teams
  
  


• Prepare a team charter for Delivery Manager - Data by clearly defining the roles & responsibilities, procedures, and vision for ensuring the health of Blizzard data assets.
  
  


• Build a roadmap, define, and justify required headcount, and staff accordingly.
  
  


• Influence and evangelize best practices around data usage and management across ABK.
  
  


• Create the data team's communication strategy to ensure that requests, announcements, and schedules align with partners, clients, and stakeholders.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience in leading data-related operations for large scale projects.
  
  


• Expert inter-personal skills. Strong communicator and team-oriented mindset.
  
  


• Thrives in chaotic/fast-paced situations and remains calm.
  
  


• Knowledge of the game development lifecycle.
  
  


• Experience with games and/or customer-facing applications
  
  


• Self-starter; knows how to prioritize in the face of ambiguity.
  
  


• Willing to be on-call for live ops when necessary.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experienced in building an ops function from the ground up
  
  


• Engineering experience or experience working directly with engineering teams
  
  


• Computer science or similar degree - preferred
  
  


• Dev ops experience.
  
  


• Live ops experience.
  
  


• JIRA and Confluence expertise.
