Aesthetics Communications Director at Merz North America Inc

Job Description:

The Aesthetics Communications Director is a new role for the Region North America Merz Aesthetics team. The primary responsibility is the development and management of internal/external regional communication channels; the secondary responsibility is to ensure that regional roll out of global programs, events, and initiatives are planned and executed to meet the needs of the regional Aesthetics organization.  


As the Aesthetics Communications Director, you will be responsible for communications including business unit updates, regular and ad-hoc internal communications for the US region including the President of North America, meeting reviews, and presentations. This role will also partner with the global aesthetics communications team. Additionally, this role will support the regional organizational & development function that is comprised of company initiatives and e-learning.


The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic organization and be able to quickly pivot on strategy and deliverables when needed. Candidates will need to work independently while keeping groups of cross-functional stakeholders updated depending on the project. Previous experience in a highly regulated, global environment and PR/marketing agency is a plus. This is a broad scope role with a lot of visibility. We are looking for someone to step in and hit the ground running.


RESPONSIBILITIES


Internal Communications



  • Lead the development of all US internal communication channels including content.

  • Work with internal, cross functional stakeholders to develop the strategic, effective and timely distribution of communications to meet overall communication and company objectives.

  • Support the President of North America's communication platform for internal communication.

  • Ensure all regional communications developed are on message and targeted to appropriate audiences.

  • Produce monthly management team meetings, including assisting with executive presentations, and regular business updates for intranet.

  • Manage expenses to ensure budgets remain within desired projections.

External Communications



  • Assist with Region North America's public relations projects, including but not limited to social media asset creation, crisis management and other communications needs.

  • Partner with US marketing and global communication colleagues for regional social media messaging.

  • Attend industry and community events and conferences to promote the organization’s image, as needed.

  • Develop and execute the externally focused President of North America's executive visibility plan.

Communication Strategy



  • Provide strategic communications counsel to the regional aesthetics function.

  • Collaborate with Global Communications on initiatives and plans on behalf of Merz Aesthetics.

Learning & Development



  • Execute roll-out of new e-learning and development programs, including leadership development and coaching, at the regional level of the Aesthetics organization.

Employee Events



  • Strategize on annual employee events and meeting calendar; partner with Meetings & Events to execute vision.

REQUIREMENTS



  • Bachelors’ degree in a related communications discipline.

  • Minimum of 4-7 years in a communications role.

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.

  • Executive presence and comfort working with executive leadership.

  • Presentation development and delivery skills. Proficient in PowerPoint and other presentation platforms and best practices

  • Demonstrated experience in social/digital communication.

  • Working knowledge of AP Style Guide.

  • Strong understanding of a global, cross-functional organization.

  • Proven track record of consistently setting key performance indicators, measuring and communicating results, and using those results to inform future strategy.
