Title:  Senior Underwriter

Location:  Sioux Falls, SD

Builder Finance Inc. or “BFI” finances home builders and home investors across the country. BFI provides construction loans, renovation loans, rental investment property loans, and more.

 BFI is an entrepreneurial organization that embraces a strong service-based culture. Working within a small, collegial team the successful candidate will play an important role, being responsible for: (1) researching, surveilling, and analyzing the credit worthiness of borrowers and (2) fulfillment of finance/accounting related items. 

Key responsibilities include:

• 
  Initial Borrower Due Diligence Analyze financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, and background reports.


• 
  Annual Financial Review Work with borrowers and team members to compile and report accurate business financials of larger borrowers.


• 
  Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversee certain accounts payable and accounts receivable.


• 
  Loan Statements Prepare loan closing and loan payoff statements.


• 
  Loan Surveillance Assist with data gathering, analysis, and the preparation of monthly reporting presented to Management and the Board of Directors.


• 
  Unfunded Balance Assist in fulfilling unfunded commitments.

Expectations should be set for approximately 45 hours of work per week (8:00-5:30, with half an hour off for lunch). There will be minimal to zero travel. Assuming positive performance of both the subject hire and BFI, the subject hire may earn increased compensation including participation in a bonus pool.

Qualifications:

• 
  Education: Prefer but not required is a bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting, finance, economics, or similar.
  


• 
  Experience: At least 1.5 years of experience, preferably 3+ years, underwriting business and/or personal financial statements.  


•
