The Senior Analyst, Data Ops will contribute to the design, build and management of data collection processes and Business Intelligence solutions for data storage and user access. This person supports and helps develop integrated data architecture solutions with a variety of other BBY systems/applications that relate to customer and transactional information in efforts to enhance understanding of business drivers.
He or she will have the ability to maintain Omnichannel information management systems, and support technology components that are used to enable business intelligence (BI) systems for reporting and data analytics. The most successful candidate will be someone who can work independently while understanding the value of asking for assistance when needed, is forward-thinking, thrives in a team, and has a past track record of accomplishments in the BI/data analytics/modeling space. This role will require candidate’s adept at creating logic to build data collection systems for enterprise data topics, as assigned.
Key Responsibilities System & Solution management:
Understands processes to collect business, functional and data requirements.
Troubleshoots existing ETL and business intelligence infrastructure.
Designs and builds business intelligence solutions to manage data integration across enterprise applications and metadata.
Partners with report delivery teams to model for future & current reporting needs.
Industry Knowledge and Best Practices:
Understands data modelling & analytics industry standards, best practices and present key findings and recommendations, to improve system performance.
Be a subject matter expert in data modelling to make recommendations to the team and respectfully challenge organizational norms.
Efficiencies:
Acts as professional consultant within the enterprise regarding business intelligence best practices and recommendations around optimal agile processes and capabilities toolsets.
Execute BBY IT change requests and support break-fix maintenance.
Basic Requirements:
2+ years of experience executing or managing projects, process or run the business activities.
2+ years of experience in customer service, operations, labor forecasting, analytics, training, business, retail, or related area.
2+ years of experience using a diverse set of qualitative and user-centered research methods.
2+ years of experience with user reporting tools such as PowerPivot/Power BI.
Preferred Requirements:
2+ years of data wrangling experience using any of the Datawarehouse platform(s).
2+ years of designing/using Microsoft Analysis Services technology.
2+ years operating in an omnichannel retail environment
Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, IBM Cognos, Tableau, Qlikview.
Comfortable with presenting information in large gatherings & to senior executives.
Familiarity with BBY operational systems, esp. datasets, would be a huge plus.
