Responsibilities

Dematic Corp has an opening for two (2) Mechanic 3 positions located at our Salt Lake City, UT manufacturing location. This position will perform the mechanical assembly of both sub-assemblies and final product in a very clean, well-lit, and air-conditioned facility.

Specific Responsibilities:


  • Performs complex mechanical tasks associated with both sub-assemblies and final product in preparation for testing.

  • Responsible in the loading and shipping processes involved with the final product.

  • Interprets blueprints and schematics, recommending engineering changes as necessary.

  • Performs the set-up procedures required for product functional testing.

  • Assists in the product set-up at the manufacturing plant and or customer job site required for final product testing.

  • Provides mechanical troubleshooting and mechanical testing of both sub-assemblies and final product.nterprets blueprints and schematics, recommending engineering changes as necessary.

  • Performs mechanical tasks associated with both sub-assemblies and final product in preparation for product testing.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Effectively identifies problems as they occur and takes appropriate steps to solve them in situations where the problem is more difficult and complex.

  • Operates forklifts and or cranes as required.

  • Prepares and loads final product for shipment.

  • Must be able to ascend and decent ladders, scaffolding and the like with ability to a maximum of 120 ft.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently.

  • Performs work in areas subject to such hazards as moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and chemicals.

  • Assists with the installation of product which requires 25%-30% or more travel with little or no advance notice.


Qualifications

Education:

Typically an Associate's degree in mechanics or 1-2 years of vocational technical training preferred. HS diploma or equivalent required. Specialized skill training/certification may be required.

Knowledge:

Successfully demonstrated thorough/advanced knowledge of a technical or specialty area.

Direction of Others:

Generally, minimum of 2-4 years successful experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.

Key Working Relationships:

May provide general guidance to others and train lower level employees.
