Essential Duties & Job Functions:


  • Responds to emergencies.

  • Monitors UPS Battery Alber System.

  • Assists with outages.

  • Escorts as needed.

  • Switches UPS, ATS, & LOAD CENTERS as needed.

  • Makes electrical rounds every four hours to check and record data on UPS, ATS, and inspecting batteries, checking load, center configuration and load data.

  • Checks buildings for lights out and replaces as necessary.

  • Responds to smoke alarms.

  • Performs infrared on Panels, PDU’s, UPS’s, Load Centers, and MCC’s as required.

  • Work orders as needed.

  • Performs PMs as assigned.

  • Trains new personnel for certification testing.

  • Maintain log book.

  • Attends safety training and certification classes.

  • Maintains building certifications.

  • Ability operate Government or Company motor vehicles and/or other equipment.

  • Assists and supports other departments, staff and/or trade groups as needed or directed.

  • Performs other related work as required or assigned.

  • Timely and cost effective performance of duties.

  • Adherence to all safety, environmental and health rules and regulations.

  • Adherence to the established personnel policies and standard operating procedures.

  • Harmoniously working with other employees and customers.

  • Working with the Supervisors and Operators to outline work to be done, after which incumbent is expected to work independently.

Minimum Qualifications: 


  • High school graduate or equivalent GED.

  • Journeyman skill level.

  • Four years (4) years’ experience in electrical maintenance.

  • Extensive knowledge of hand and power tools.

  • Extensive knowledge of applicable codes and standards.

  • Mature judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

  • U.S. Citizenship with ability to pass background and drug screen.

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds and team lift 75 pounds.

  • All employees will be required to wear a mask while on shift.
