The Director, Finance leads a team in the development of financial strategy and execution of STRIDE finance activities


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.



  • Advise on profitability and business unit management;

  • Direct forecasting and budgeting cycle;

  • Monitor controls and compliance with corporate financial policies;

  • Support business leaders in decision support and analysis;

  • Drive and influence Company initiatives with business leaders

  • Oversee and manage the work and activities of finance staff;

  • Support audit requirements to include revenue assurance, and analytic support;

  • Oversee financial compliance with SOX and other programmatic and statutory compliance regimes;

  • Control and protect the assets of STRIDE;

  • Oversee the risk analysis and management process;

  • Support the business with new program development;

  • Advise business leaders on resource optimization questions;

  • Support leaders in the management of financial matters with internal and external stakeholders;

  • Prepare monthly forecasts and budgets;


Supervisory Responsibilities: None


MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's degree AND

  • Ten (10) years of finance and accounting experience AND

  • Three (3) years of experience managing people OR

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience


Certificates and Licenses: None required.


OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Understanding of accounting processes, procedures and internal controls

  • Strong research and analytical skills

  • Able to work well as part of a team

  • Customer service orientation

  • Possess very good communication skills - written and verbal

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Ability to travel 10-15% of the time (as needed)

  • Ability to clear required background check


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Advanced degree in related field

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation

  • This is a home-based and an office-based position. We are seeking applicants that are driving distance and able to work in the Simi Valley office. We anticipate a typical school office setting including conversation, light foot traffic, computers, etc.
