Overview

The Master Scheduler is responsible for the production planning for designated production areas and/or product lines within the Midland Manufacturing facility in Skokie, IL. This position will plan, schedule, and expedite production and warehouse scheduling based on sales forecasts and actual customer demand to ensure that products are made and shipped according to the company's customer service levels and inventory targets. This position plays a critical role in the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) processes and Inventory Control Management with a focus on customer satisfaction, profitability, inventory turns, and working capital.

Primary Responsibilities


  • Create and coordinate detailed production schedules for designated areas.


  • Organize, formulate and prepare production schedules to meet customer specific requirements, forecasted demand, inventory targets and manufacturing capacities.


  • Monitor in-process work orders to ensure meeting schedule. Keep informed of manufacturing status and, when needed, initiate the necessary steps to meet commitments.


  • Act as a liaison with Customer Service, production, engineering, and others on matters pertaining to schedules, production, methods, materials and design to resolve day-to-day problems and improve systematic methods.


  • Ensure compliance with all quality regulations, standards and corporate policies including but not limited to ISO 9001:2015 and AAR M-1003 for assigned department.


  • Communicate closely with the accounting department to ensure job costing accuracy.


  • Participates in the SIOP process as requested to provide optimum customer service.


  • Collaborates with other departments in the company to ensure that the appropriate data is available and accurate to be reviewed at the SIOP meetings.


  • Partner with Customer Service, Purchasing and operations to determine if the sales order requirements can be met.


  • Works closely with the Production Manager and Warehouse Supervisor to ensure teamwork and collaboration across departments to ensure the customer orders and deadlines are met on-time.


  • Works closely with the purchasing team to analyze supply and demand issues to facilitate resolution throughout the supply chain.


  • Shares best practice methods, processes and ideas across the company to drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the business.


  • Assists with Physical Inventory.


  • Maintains key performance indicators that relate to the inventory planning and scheduling functions.


  • Other duties as assigned by supervision.


Qualifications/Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree is required. Concentration in Supply Chain, manufacturing or logistics preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in Production Control, Master Scheduling, production planning or related experience is required

  • Experience working in ERP systems requires, Oracle experience preferred

  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing systems as they relate to manufacturing planning processes

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and ability to work well with others

Physical and Environmental Conditions


  • This position is performed a manufacturing environment and office environment. May be exposed to loud operating machinery, cold temperatures, chemicals, and vapors

  • May require a combination of sitting, standing, and walking

  • May require use of Personal computer, fax machine, copy machine, other office equipment, Microsoft Office, Access, PowerPoint
