Job Duties from Official Position Description on File:
Conducts investigations & inspections of video lottery licensed facilities & determines & ensures compliance to all statutory & administrative provisions:  Conducts inspections regarding video lottery terminal operations & secures copies of documents, tapes/discs, reports, logs, etc. that are necessary to ascertain compliance with all laws & regulations; conducts an ongoing review of video lottery terminal activity to ensure that all machines are functioning as required; serves as an on-site liaison for Intralot to ensure that all machines are communicating properly & to coordinate maintenance & repair of any video lottery terminals;  coordinates activities concerning all video lottery terminal placements & floor plans & ensures that all necessary surveillance coverage is maintained with every floor plan change; works directly with the public on a daily basis in execution of assigned job duties (i.e., has significant level of contact (e.g., face-to-face, telephone, customer correspondence, etc.) with the public).

 
Serves as liaison & responds to incidents:  Serves as on-site liaison & establishes relationships with video lottery facility management, facility staff employees, the Ohio State Racing Commission, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation & local law enforcement; prepares & submits detailed reports on any suspicious activity on the gaming floor & cooperates with the investigation & prosecution of any criminal or administrative violations; testifies in courts of law & administrative hearings; maintains a Compliance Incident data base for reports of any suspicious activity or unusual incidents & all other reportable incidents that occur within the video lottery facility; responds to patron complaints concerning any video lottery terminals & attempts to resolve the complaints in a satisfactory & equitable manner; responds to calls for assistance, reviews & completes Voluntary Exclusion Program (i.e., VEP) applications with program applicants.
 

Monitors video lottery facility employees & facilitates gaming licensing process:  Monitors video lottery facility employees to ensure that each employee meets the Ohio Lottery’s gaming license requirements; facilitates licensing process for key gaming employees (e.g., collects & processes application, photographs applicant, processes Webcheck, provides application to Bureau of Criminal Investigation, enters data into Identisys Web ID employee licensing database, forwards information to Ohio Lottery Office of Security & Licensing & Bonding department) & gaming employees (e.g., collects & processes application, photographs applicant, processes Webcheck, enters data into Identisys Web ID employee licensing database, forwards information to Ohio Lottery Office of Security & Licensing & Bonding department); ensures that video lottery facility employees have their credentials available upon request; when necessary, issues emergency credentials to any employee who does not have a credential on their person; ensures that all vendors are licensed according to Ohio Lottery policy & issues temporary vendor credentials to approved vendor employees; gathers all relevant documents, reports & other information for any employee who has been terminated or arrested & forwards the information to the Ohio Lottery Office of Security for a review & determination of the employee’s gaming license.
 

As directed by supervisor, provides training & performs other related duties:  Assists in providing field training to probationary Investigators; educates public, law enforcement officers & government personnel on video lottery laws & procedure; performs other duties & works on special projects as directed.


Completion of associate core program in law enforcement, criminal justice or in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file; 12 months experience conducting investigations &/or inspections; valid driver's license.

 

 

OR:  30 months training or 30 months experience as Investigator Assistant, 26210 with experience corresponding to type of complaints & alleged violations appearing in job posting/approved position description; valid driver's license.

 

 

OR:  30 months training or 30 months investigative experience with experience corresponding to type of complaints & alleged violations appearing in job posting/approved position description; valid driver's license.

 

 

OR:  Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
