Supervisor - Coating Room (3rd Shift) at Europastry USA

We are searching for a motivated & experienced 


The Supervisor-Coating Room is responsible for coordinating activities of workers engaged in hand tying knots, bagging or packing finished products and the Coating Room along with overseeing any required production and quality controls and records.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES: include the following



  • Supervises workers engaged in Manipulating, twisting or molding dough into specific shapes and or sizes including hand tying knots and have the ability to meet or exceed the set quota required per minute.

  • Trains new employees on how to perform the varying functions of the job, to include different hand tied knots and bread.

  • Inspects rolls or bread products for quality and specification, nonconforming product (shape, sizes, weight, color, appearance) or any inconsistencies in finish product

  • Responsible for working in all areas of production, to include coating room bagging and packing breads and tying knots.

  • Inspects defective products or boxes

  • Works as a team to help co-workers achieve goals

  • Responsible for rotating workers throughout the varying production areas for ergonomic safety, breaks and other business needs. Personally rotates with other workers at different intervals to maintain uniformity as well

  • Alerts Production Shift Manager of complications and situations that may arise.

  • Assigns tasks according to work schedules and assigns breaks and lunch periods

  • Performs activities of team assemblers

  • Ensures metal detector testing records are completed and accurate, as required

  • Regularly inspects product, ensuring the product meets all set specifications

  • Removes samples at different intervals for quality control inspection.

  • Responsible for meeting or surpassing the set quota for product make up, set by the Company

  • Fill out reports of metal detector and SPC weight consistency

  • Maintains clean and orderly work area

  • Contributes to a continuous improvement culture.

  • Attends company scheduled meetings when applicable (i.e., safety meetings, production meetings, department meetings.)

  • Informs supervision of any problems or complications that may arise

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required

Requirements



  • High School Diploma required—a degree in a technical, engineering, or relevant field is preferred

  • 3-5 years of proven work experience as Packing Supervisor or similar role

  • Working knowledge of various types of manufacturing machinery and tools

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office

  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong work ethic—self-motivated and results-driven

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus

 


In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for:



  • Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.

  • Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.  Must follow all Company Safety policies, as well as all GMP regulations and all lock-out/tag-out requirements according to OSHA requirements.

  • As an employee at Wenner Bakery, you must also be aware of issues associated with food safety and safe food handling practices that are relevant to your job. Formal training is not required, but in house Food Safety Training conducted by a qualified staff member is mandatory. You must know how to recognize, prevent and alleviate food safety hazards. This position requires good working knowledge of the SQF code.
