Job Description Summary

Develops and implements energy, environmental and sustainable development activates in the Lamb-Weston platform. Ensures compliance with corporate, local, state and federal requirements. Collaboratively empowers and supports operating facilities with strategic, tactical and technical support relating to environmental performance and sustainable development, including energy cost and use reduction. Interacts with energy providers to maximize site strategic value through least cost methods of supply. Monitors and coordinates support of appropriate state and local legislation, rulemaking, policy development and guidelines applicable to sustainability of our business in the environmental and energy arenas.

Program Responsibilities


  • Represents LW internally & externally as ENVsubject matter expert (SME)


  • Oversees environmental activity athigh-complexity or multiple production facilities


  • Consistent implementation of LW corp. policies/standards


  • Monitors & communicates impending regulatory changesin conjunction with corp. ENVleadership


  • Provides overall direction for ENV performanceconsistent with corporate policies &standards


  • Targets objectives at each site (builds consensus with PMs)


  • DevelopENV risk registerat eachsite


  • Communicate potential risks tofacility operationsleadership and corporate environmentalleadership based on evaluation of ENVdata


  • Owner ofENV KPIs


  • Guide process of environmentalaudit/regulatory inspection preparedness


  • Analyzes ENV data/info to identify trends & potential areas for riskreduction


  • Communicate potential risks to corporate ENV leadership based on evaluation of ENVdata


  • Retains/project manages ENVconsultants


  • Environmental engineering/capital planning:


  • Work with corp. and plant ENV/engineering resources to develop ENV capitalplan


  • Work with corp. and plant ENV/engineering resources to identify potential ENV impacts from capital investmentprojects as well as R&M projects


  • Process safety management


  • Ensure corporate and regulatory required programs are being managed, supported and fulfilledin coordination with facility engineering and safetymanagement


  • Support sustainable development initiatives andgoals


  • SupportENV MGRin permitting processes and dealings withregulators


  • Participate in environmental audit process at otherfacilities





Job Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in Sciences(Engineering, Biology or Chemistry)

  • Masters in Engineering or Science preferred

  • Licensed Professional Engineer preferred

  • 6 - 12 years progressive experience in the environmental/engineering field

  • Expert knowledge of all environmental regulations and their impact on the food industry

  • Good leadership skills

  • Good presentation skills

  • Experience with acquisitions/divestitures

  • Experience with developing engineering scope for new equipment to fulfill compliance needs



Equipment Operation
Expert knowledgeable of operational practices for environmental control systems on water supply, wastewater, air pollution and solid waste. Provide expertise to plant operators to successfully manage and operate equipment to meet permit requirements. Understanding of food processing sanitation and quality control needs in manufacturing consumer food products.


Physical Demands
Ability to work in office environment, manufacturing operations and environmental control systems. Ability to represent Lamb Weston onenvironmental matters to outside stakeholders. Position will require ability to travel as needed to fulfill responsibilities. Annual travel may range up to25%.
