What you'll do on a typical day:


  • Provide direction and ongoing support to employees to ensure continuous improvement in inventory accuracy metrics

  • Define and implement physical and systematic inventory control and reconciliation processes

  • Drive and employ best practices for physical inventories; ensure the sites use and understand appropriate timeline templates, reporting and inventory controls

  • Audit inventory control and order management processes for accuracy, while providing immediate feedback for process improvements

  • Direct the inventory management team in the execution of root cause analyses to determine inventory variance origins

  • Define and execute audit reporting, compile error sources, and provide methodologies for inventory reconciliation

  • Conduct ongoing standardized audits to ensure mistakes are corrected and that corrective actions are implemented

  • Deliver and support the needed tools and standards used for managing the inventory control process, including cycle counting programs, process control audits, discrepancy resolutions, etc.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you'll need:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience

  • 10 years of inventory control experience in a distribution environment

  • 7 years of managerial/supervisory experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and computerized scanner equipment

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent related work or military experience

  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively supervise, coach and influence employees

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex business processes and identify risks in high-visibility, high-stress situations; ability to quickly and accurately apply sound, well-balanced reasoning to each decision

  • Ability to identify opportunities to increase accuracy and optimize resources; ability to develop, recommend and implement solutions

  • Strong time and project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workloads

  • Demonstrated ability to learn and achieve proficiency in new software applications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present clean, organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
