Inspects purchased parts, assemblies, accessories, optics, and materials for conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments and devices: Examines items for defects in materials, work, and damage occurring in transit.
Compares quantity and part number of items received with procurement data and other specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy of order.
Inspects and measures items for dimensional accuracy, fit, alignment, and functional operation, according to blueprints, parts manuals, company or military standards, and other specifications, using precision measuring instruments and devices.
Approves or rejects items, and records inspection and disposition information.
Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database.
Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs.
Must be highly organized to respond positively to the dynamic work environment and rapidly changing priorities.
Education and Work Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
AS degree or >3 years relevant experience
Previous experience with Quality Inspection in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
Fluent in Microsoft Office Programs, including strong proficiency in Excel.
Must be a US person.
Desired Qualifications:
5+ years of quality inspection experience in high-tech manufacturing.
Prior use of CMM inspection equipment
Previous experience using manufacturing systems such as Agile and Oracle.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in establishing new process/systems.
Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively across functions
Previous technical writing experience.
Ability to perform AS9102 first article inspection on fabricated parts a plus.
