Job Description:


This position is for a Project Manager for an NIH-funded research project "Access to and Effectiveness of Community-Based Rehabilitation following Stroke." This study will analyze data collected from a large pragmatic trial on over 11,000 North Carolina patients hospitalized for stroke or transient ischemic attack and discharged home. Patient and clinical data collected as part of the trial will be supplemented with Medicare, Medicaid, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield claims data to explore various questions related to the use and effectiveness of community-based rehabilitation care.

The Project Manager will play a key role in the success of this project which includes collaborators at the University of North Carolina, Duke University, and Wake Forest University. The project manager will work closely with the PI providing support for all aspects of the research project and providing day-to-day administrative support. S/he will serve as the point person for communications among team members and will work with the project managers at the partnering institutions. Activities for the position will include assisting with project start up, organizing meetings and taking minutes, conducting literature reviews; assisting with data acquisition, data preparation, and analysis; developing reports; monitoring the budget; and assisting with manuscript preparation and dissemination of findings. The project manager may also support other research projects and activities of the PI.

The ideal candidate for the position will have a Master's degree and at least 5 years of project management experience and experience working with remote teams. A health-related master's degree (e.g., MPH) and/or experience in the field of rehabilitation is preferred. The Project Manager will join a dynamic, experienced team, in a well-established, nationally known School of Rehabilitation Science.

Minimum Education Level Required: Master's degree in a relevant field (MPH, Clinical Research, health administration, etc.).

Minimum Related Experience Level Required: 5 years of experience as project coordinator or administrator in a relevant field in healthcare. Experience with technical writing is preferred.
