Job Description:

The Senior Qualys Engineer / Developer will be pivotal to design discovery, service definition and implementation, and interface development for ongoing enterprise vulnerability management engagements. This candidate will drive both technical relationship and communications with customers and partners by providing implementation and architectural advice, implementing them in the Qualys platform, and supporting operations and process improvement.

How you'll make an impact:

    • Work with customers to gather design requirements, implement, and coordinate Qualys VMDR vulnerability management actions and reporting interfaces, including continual refinement within pre-production and production environments.

    • Learn and adapt to client culture, security strategies, security goals, security objectives, and security capabilities.

    • Identify client's organizational position and posture against emerging and zero-day threats

    • Provide Vulnerability Assessment Scanning advice and guidance, supporting team in false positive identification, deduplications or tag strategies, compliance scanning, and scan profile and policy creation.

    • Provide technical vision, expertise, and documentation for configurations and operational procedures and guidance to ensure the continued evolution of Optiv's Managed Vulnerability offerings.

    • Provide system owners, system administrators, infrastructure partners, and IT support staff with effective vulnerability mitigation strategies, meaningful vulnerability metrics, security controls, and / or corrective actions for mitigating technical and business risk.

    • Develop and report enterprise-level metrics for vulnerabilities and remediation progress. Understand, demonstrate, and educate stakeholders on the real-world impact of threats and vulnerability exploitation in a given environment.

    • Manage multiple customer requests, assessments, and meet customer expectations within established service levels.

Qualifications for success:

    • 7+ years of vuln management experience, with strong Qualys configuration/deployment expertise.

    • Experience with configuring a Qualys portal, including tagging, dashboards, report template creation, reporting scheduling, scan configuration, scan scheduling, troubleshooting reports and scan errors.

    • Ability to work with Groovy / QQL scripting language

    • Ability to work with Qualys API

    • Experience with Qualys VMDR, Asset View & Management, Scanning, Reporting, and Cloud Agent
