The purpose of this role is to lead a small, technical team to execute the evergreen client Roadmaps, design & implement technical solutions, and collaborate with teams across the globe to meet the evolving demands of the business. This is an experienced technical leadership position within the Alcoa Corporation IT organization.

Major activities/Key challenges

Technical Leadership and Accountability for:


  • Windows 10 Client Operating System including: Feature Updates, Core Imaging Process, Hardware, and Product Lifecycles.

  • Continuous improvement of software deployment strategies, processes, and operational improvements based on industry advances.

  • Organization of regular meetings to introduce upcoming changes and planned projects with regional teams and partners.

  • Collaboration with the Client Team and Global IT organization to deliver business critical solutions.

  • Management of the Global Client Standards for continued alignment with Evergreen Client Model and roadmaps.

  • Oversight for Terminal Server deployment, management, and administration.

  • Monitoring the status of open issues, work requests and projects.

  • Provide Level 3 support for escalated issues from Operations and Service Delivery teams.

  • Engagement with technology vendor as needed to meet Alcoa’s needs.

  • Drive the development of value-based solutions:

  • Modernize client hardware and software technology to align with industry standard methodologies to improve customer satisfaction and adoption globally.

  • Represent the Client Team as the “Subject Matter Expert” to participate in the development, technical discussions, and processes to align with overall IT strategy.

  • Understand the Alcoa security policies and architectural standards to apply to client initiatives.

  • Apply Leadership skill to manage Client Team resources

  • Plan and execute changes in compliance with Alcoa IT change control processes.

  • Solid experience with Microsoft Windows Client Operating Systems, System Center Configuration Manager, Microsoft Intune

  • Good technical experience and knowledge with Active Directory, Server Operating systems

  • Experienced in building, licensing, and application deployment related to Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (Terminal Server)

  • Work independently to manage and execute client related projects and contribute to efforts led by others.

  • Solid understanding of and experience with infrastructure, application and support processes.

  • Scripting abilities in one or more language -- PowerShell, VB

  • B.S. Degree in IT related major

  • 1-3 years supervisory/leadership experience

  • Demonstrated experience in designing and deploying Client solutions

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in IT systems management
