Manager, Vaccine Supply Chain Operations

  • Assists in the day to day operations of the department supporting end users by troubleshooting and maintaining the system to support product workflows.

  • Assists with the creation of master data and setup of other related objects required to efficiently run the system.

  • Manage operational KPI’s and submit monthly to Network and global dashboard.

  • Department Quality Systems SME responsible for managing departmental change controls, deviations, etc. 



  • Master data governance, creation of purchase orders, batches, and miscellaneous other data objects as needed.  Perform inventory transactions within SAP as required.

  • Provide trouble-shooting assistance and enhancement training to end users ensuring thorough understanding of SAP and Supply Chain principles.

  • Oversee and assist life cycle support and continuous improvement of Takeda’s vaccine manufacturing and quality systems.

  • Document all changes made to production systems via change controls and SOP’s.

  • As required, authors departmental procedures as needed.

  • Troubleshoot functional issues within SAP and collaborate with internal IT and/or affiliate support on behalf of end users.

  • Initiate and follow through on Technical Assistance Requests with SAP support team(s).

  • Facilitate assessment of a change requested to SAP and its implication to all affected components in the system as well as to existing SOPs and work practices. 

  • Understanding of the business processes, needs and requirements of Operations, Quality Assurance, and Finance groups and map these to the functionality available within SAP.

  • Develop, implement and continuously improve processes and procedures used within Business Systems and Supply Operations with the goal of improving operating efficiencies and identifying cost savings.

  • Assist Finance and multiple groups of auditors during regular inventory reconciliations.

  • Support Sales & Operations Planning process.

  • Support or lead projects related to product portfolio as needed.


  • BA/BS in Business Management, Supply Chain, or IT discipline required or 10-15 years within GMP environment.

  • Knowledge of ERP/Supply Chain and the ability to utilize this in a complex GMP planning environment.

  • Project Management experience desirable.

  • The candidate should have demonstrated written and oral communication skills and ability to work in a cross functional team environment

  • Self-Motivated:  able to thrive in a fast paced environment with minimal direction

  • Highly Collaborative:  highly accountable and naturally works well with the team to seek innovative solutions and can identify, design, and configure the system to meet the company’s requirements.

  • Detail Oriented: keen attention to detail.

  • Analytical Ability:  superior analytical skills to evaluate new business requirements and propose appropriate solutions.

  • Multitask:  ability to work on a number of deadline driven projects simultaneously with a sense of urgency.


  • APICS Certified or willing to obtain certification(s).


  • 10-20%

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to various meetings or client sites, including overnight trips.
