Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities
This position is required to work with Chemicals.
To be successful in this role you will need to read and understand all safety data sheets (SDS) of all chemicals worked with.
Have basic reading, writing and mathematical skills.
Read micrometers, thickness gages and profilometers.
Be able to fabricate jigs and fixtures for parts, using hand and air power tools.
Understand plating instructions (both verbal and written) and fill all paperwork that follows.
Preparation for plating, according to Indianhead Plating, Inc.'s procedures and understand principles of plating.
Operate all plating equipment.
Operate forklift, hand trucks and overhead hoists.
Must follow all safety procedures on equipment; maintain equipment and report any malfunctions.
Works safely at all times and complies with all safety regulations while working with Hazardous materials and chemicals.
Maintains equipment, and work area in a clean and organized manner.
Monitors all equipment to ensure they are performing and calibrated properly.
Inspect and package parts.
Keep eyewash and shower stations accessible at all times.
Ensures all customer product and tooling is handled properly to avoid damage.
Works with a positive attitude and reports all questions or concerns to supervisor in a timely manner.
Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed.
Wear protective gear deemed necessary for job.
Repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
Sharp parts, sharp tooling, heavy carts, occasional hot and cold temperature and humidity levels, heat from ovens, moderate noise levels, limited hand and air tool use, compressed air (must use hearing protection).
Potential splash exposure near tanks.
Some positions are repetitive in nature.
Various chemicals used in process.
Medical: Eligible after 60 days, beginning on the 1st of the month
Dental, Vision, Critical and Accident Insurance: Premiums paid by Employee
Life Insurance: Company Paid Term Policy of $25,000
Short- and Long-Term Disability: Premiums paid by employer, after 90 days.
Paid Time Off: 40 Hours earned your first year (90 day waiting period, then allowed pro-rated vacation to use immediately)
Uniforms: Company supplied laundered uniforms after 90 days
Safety Boots: Reimbursement up to $100.00/Semi-Annually after 90 days
Prescription Safety Glass Allowance: Reimbursement up to $125.00/Annually after 90 days
Eligible for employee contribution to 401K after 90 days with entry in January or July. (no employer match)
Eligible for company contribution to Profit Sharing after one year, 1000 hours worked, with entry in January or July
Holiday Pay: 72 hours (chosen by IPI), available after 90 days
Shift Differentials for 2nd and 3rd shift, Weekend nights, and $20 bonus if you work a full eight-hour shift beyond your 40 hours work week.
