Job Summary

The Program Accounting Analyst is an expert analyst and advisor responsible for planning, analyzing, evaluating, and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of programs and operations within Teledyne FLIR's Integrated Solutions Line of Business

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Support government and operational programs with data driven analysis.

  • Collect, analyze, and consolidate data and status reports to determine impact on resources, effectiveness, and compliance within scope of program.

  • Develop various techniques and methods to assess costs and benefits of alternative labor, material, vendor and subcontractor resources.

  • Monitors and analyzes a variety of, financial reports, accounting records/systems, industry laws and regulations, etc. pertaining to assigned program area; summarizing, interpreting, and disseminating relevant information.

  • Analyze and synthesize information available from various databases and programs to assist leadership in planning, formulating, and executing various cost improvement actions.

  • Key tasks to support pricing, program cost as well as working capital objectives:

  • Perform and track billings on program to ensure all is up to date and any issues are immediately addressed

  • Costing support: Monitor BOM, labor pricing, vendor pricing, and program inventory to reduce scrap and E&O / Monitor program EAC, ETC, percent complete, and vendor progress to assert funding control and to avoid cost overrun.

  • Working Capital support: Improve program cash flow

  • Perform operational reviews and provide guidelines pertaining to the effectiveness of program operations.

  • Support other accounting functions such as SOX controls monitoring and compliance with company financial policies.

  • Performing research and analysis as required.

  • Ensuring compliance with financial guidelines, company policies, and relevant legal regulations

  • Prepare data and analysis to support business cases and Return on Investment (ROI) analysis in support of Capital Investment

  • Support pricing and cost strategy efforts and proposals for accuracy and completeness

  • Support the monthly close process, including results and variance analysis

Job Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.

  • 5+ years of professional experience in program evaluation, budget analysis, contract and amendments, research and analysis in Government Acquisitions, Defense and Aerospace Industry, Corporate Finance or comparable technical discipline, or other related financial analysis experience

  • Demonstrated experience monitoring and briefing leadership on program status

  • Demonstrated experience in calculating Percent Complete, Over Time revenue recognition, Earned Value Management, WAWF billing including milestone as well as creating comprehensive program financials

  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in financial planning, analysis, and modeling or combination of accounting and finance.

  • Ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience.

  • Working knowledge of financial strategies.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

  • Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment.

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of SAP, or related financial systems, preferred.

  • USA Citizen
