Responsible for the manufacturing process and fundamental technology used for creating new products or the improvement for existing ones.
Responsible for the standards of prints, models, routings, and bills of materials.
Reviews, recommends, and analyzes request for quote and revision changes to determine manufacturability and profitability.
Responsible for leading and supervising a team of engineers, programmers, and machine technicians in accomplishing new product introduction from concept through manufacture, and recognize opportunities for improvements in manufacturability, cost, and redesign.
Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring projects and results. Reports monthly department metrics and progress to the management team.
Works with the CNC, Assembly, Purchasing, Scheduling and Quality Managers, to review and to monitor quality and process improvements of new and existing products.
Works to improve inventory turns and reduce lead times by consolidating part numbers and improving manufacturing methods.
Investigates new suppliers for new and existing process capabilities.
Reviews engineering capacity to meet requirements for sales planning and to ascertain engineering resources needed to meet requirements.
Helps develop budgets with management, including staff use, technology, facility and equipment requirements or improvements.
Selects, develops, trains, and supervises staff.
Develops, determines, and implements corporate policies, procedures, and programs.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Acts as a leader in the facility, an integral part of the management team.
