Sr. Manager, Future Experiences at Best Buy

Job Description:

The Future Experiences leader will identify and ignite interest in new experience opportunities for Best Buy customers and employees and create an engine of experimentation in the Customer Office.

This is a new role and we are seeking a leader who can help define and build a new capability, bringing ideas and opportunities forward at a variety of levels – from radical re-thinking to seemingly small improvements.

The ideal person is a creative thinker who can envision new opportunities for experiential excellence, a leader who can collaborate across teams and disciplines to influence with and without authority, and a builder who isn’t afraid of ambiguity.

Key Responsibilities:


  1. Collaborate with the Market Intelligence team to identify emerging trends and signals and identify opportunity spaces

  2. Work with Experience Strategy and other Customer Office teams to pitch ideas and opportunities to senior leaders

  3. Develop ways to grow “bottom up” innovation throughout the enterprise

  4. Build alignment and strong relationships with executives, leaders, and teams across the Customer Office and enterprise

  5. Develop ways of measuring team success

  6. Craft compelling stories that bring new experience ideas to the enterprise and lead test initiatives

  7. Set a standard of excellence in actions, outcomes, and deliverables

  8. Advocate for customer and employee needs in every interaction

  9. Participate in an Experience Strategy team culture that embodies the Best Buy values by showing respect, humility & integrity, unleashing the power of our people, having fun while being the best, and learning from challenge & change

Basic Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a strategy or innovation related role
    • This does not need to be corporate experience, though the ability to navigate a large, matrixed organization will be critical


  • A portfolio of work that demonstrates an ability to:

    • Help individuals and organizations understand and embrace a culture of risk-taking and a desire to learn and adapt

    • Identify opportunities based on signals from research, trends, and social data

    • Influence organizational change to adopt and adapt to new opportunities

    • Think both creatively and critically
