The Production Control Planner is responsible for evaluating and implementing MRP generated production plans based on the forecast provided by the contracts and sales department. This role addresses the feasibility and the fulfillment of special production requests and assists with evaluating the finished goods inventory. The planner coordinates with the buyers for all production and material related issues. This position will manage and communicate forecast, delivery commitments and changes through customer interface directly with the program managers, buyers and production staff. The Production Control Planner is responsible for tracking all material alignment statuses in support of the customer backlog, forecast and delivery commitments. They will work hand in had with the supporting groups to execute commitments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for Planning activities, Demand Management, Finished Goods inventory management, replenishment planning balancing sales/customer requirements and company inventory levels.
Establish product delivery schedules and financial commitments to the site leadership.
Manage day-to-day supply and demand decisions for specific customer or group of customers.
Perform “clear to build” material analysis.
Maintain ERP/MRP planning parameter data to drive proper replenishment signals back into the supply chain.
Provide material alignment priorities and work order status relative to commitments and open backlog requirements to program managers.
Sets, Plans, and Monitors inventory levels based on customer requirements and company target levels; ensures adequate planning and forecasting to maintain supply chain stability.
Coordinate and lead Weekly Product Delivery updates.
Ensure on-time delivery of material kits to production.
Analyze demand patterns and make recommendations to the site material lead for planning and manufacturing strategies.
Participate in the ECO/DCO Implementation thru MRP for open manufacturing orders (WIP).
Demand changes & impact analysis of Raw materials, WIP, FG, etc.
Provide E&O analysis on a monthly basis to the Program Manager.
Highlight the changes from excess and/or obsolete status of material.
Report ongoing delivery status to program management.
Expedite material through purchasing and reprioritize production plans as required.
Coordinate all demand and supply actions to align materials to planned manufacturing work orders.
Provide direction and demand change recommendations to production managers on material and short-term capacity constraints.
Train and perform Quality Management Systems cross-functional internal audits.
Comply with all in-house training as identified in job specific family and or specific training plan.
Utilize lean manufacturing methodologies to help drive continuous improvement.
Support all corporate and site 6S objectives.
Perform all other duties, as required.
Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent problem solving and written/oral communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical skills utilizing various tool sets.
Ability to work multiple tasks and be flexible with added tasks and changes in direction
Ability to self-direct and self-start with minimal direct supervision.
Organized and able to effectively evaluate and prioritize workload.
Possess strong and high proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Requirement Planning (MRP) systems.
5 years + Experience in: Demand Planning, Materials Planning, Manufacturing Planning, Scheduling, Production Control and Supply Chain
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience in contract manufacturing preferred.
APICS Certification (CPIM) is a plus
Experience with Epicor is a plus.
Experience with Aegis Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) is a plus.
