This position manages the assigned product categories on a worldwide basis to ensure operational excellence, continued growth, profitability, and favor among dental professionals. This includes strategic planning, in depth product knowledge, product planning, competitive product comparison, new product development, thought leader development, alliance partner activities, sales training, and sales planning with key distribution partners. This individual will be primarily responsible for the day to day management including but not limited to forecasting, analysis, responding to internal and external needs/questions, operational excellence, and more.
What you will do
Help define strategic direction and create the strategic business unit plan in coordination with Product Managers and SBU Leader.
Work closely with operations teams on product related solutions and questions*
Help develop and support programs and events such as end user and dealer trainings, alliance partner programs, and more*
Responsible for tactical sales plans, product expansion, support programs, interacting with and supporting/training the sales team.
Obtain full knowledge of product production processes, cost drivers, and end-user requirements.*
Participate in the creation of the strategic plan and be the driver of initiatives to meet the plan objectives. *
Participate in business development discussions with potential industry partners and suppliers to expand both the product line and market penetration.
Create sales training and educational tools for end users, dealer partners and internal sales team.*
Lead new product development initiatives including test market evaluations, managing design control process and launch plan activities.
Develop with the communications team tactical promotion plans, ensure pricing guideline, compliance, follow-up implementation of promotions, and report measurement of results.
Responsible for creating and implementing training programs with end users, sales team, and dealer partners.*
Develop/increase self-knowledge of the dealer distribution channel, the business practices of dealer management, dealer inventory management, dealer promotion strategy and the fit of products in their business plans.
Develop/increase self-knowledge of worldwide schools related to market segment. This includes knowing influential educators and their desired product attributes leading to purchase. Also includes lecturer support, product evaluations, etc.
Answer sales questions that cannot be addressed by Customer Service. Help ensure that information needed for Customer Service to answer questions is available on systems that meet the requirements of the user.*
Have and share comprehensive technical knowledge of competitive products and their pricing/promotions.*
Develop and maintain an understanding of the production process for products in assigned groups; with special emphasis on lead-time, cost drivers, and margins.*
Develop annual price list material including executing price data input and proofing; lead price list production (as assigned).*
Create and maintain competitive product cross-references.
Support catalog update and copy revision.
Write/edit copy for sales aids, training materials and all other written material associated with products.*
Develop/increase depth of self-knowledge of operation systems (order entry, production, and distribution information systems).

What we are looking for
Four-year college degree, preferably in Marketing or Health sciences.
Ability to manage general line extensions.
Capacity to learn how to facilitate product launches.
Excellent presentation skills for both internal and external audiences.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, exceptional listening skills.
Computer literate; especially spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software (High level comfort in Excel and PowerPoint a must).
Excellent team player/leader as demonstrated by prior performance.
