In recent years, Hagerty has worked side-by-side with state and local governments across the country to rapidly respond to industrial accidents, wildfires, and pandemics while also supporting the transition to and management of recovery operations. Our professionals have supported response and recovery programs coast-to-coast, providing financial and grant management support throughout the recovery process, from grant formulation through closeout. In partnership with our clients, Hagerty's professionals have developed and managed more than $30 billion in disaster recovery grants for our clients.
We have an opportunity for public health professionals and medical practitioners with emergency management experience to join our cadre of professionals. The Public Health Project Manager will be engaged in a range of tasks, such as providing leadership for field operations or serving in a deputy role to government stakeholders responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Public Health Project Manager will work onsite with the client to achieve mission objectives.
In this position, the Public Health Project Manager will:

  • Engage with government partners and other consultants to develop and implement measures to mitigate public health threats posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Manage projects supporting COVID-19 Response and Recovery in Maryland, which may include booster vaccinations, K-12 testing and vaccination, and mitigation in Skilled Nursing Facilities or other Congregate Care Facilities.
  • Develop and present plans, standard operating procedures, checklists, and other documents to support implementation of projects.
  • Serve as a problem solver and advisor to government partners to improve service delivery.
Candidates for the Public Health Project Manager must have:

  • A bachelor's in public health, epidemiology, health policy, or a related degree.
  • More than three (3) years of professional experience in a healthcare facility, first response agency, healthcare coalition, or public health institution (e.g., government health department, non-profit) with a high level of visibility (e.g., large health system, large metropolitan area).
  • Prior consulting experience, ideally at the local, state, or federal level, including building and managing client relationships as a trusted advisor.
  • Flexibility and availability to travel for extended periods of time.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, including attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to work on site in Baltimore, Maryland with the potential to travel across the State.
Candidates for the Public Health Project Manager may also have:

  • Familiarity with key principles, such as infection prevention and control, epidemiology (e.g., contact tracing, surveillance), occupational health, and environmental health, and/or cold chain management.
