If you are a Business Development professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Pittsburgh, PA location (preferred), or will consider Remote work option, you will Manage and direct Digital Solutions Sales and Business Development activities with the achievement of the PWS North American orders objectives. This includes sales strategy, account development, Customer C-Suite penetration and corporate representation in support of capturing additional market share.  ASTHE BUSINESS DEVELOPNENT MANAGER, DIGITAL SOLUTIONS YOU WILL: 


  • Meet all Digital Solutions growth program and account development goals 
  • Organize and successfully direct business development plans and strategic objectives for Digital Solutions 
  • Lead business development efforts in support of assigned activities including executive meetings, project pursuit plans and key account programs 
  • Track pursuits, awards and report on status at the executive level
  • Support and implement PWS strategic plans targeting market growth and market share initiatives, including Emerson board and planning conference objectives 
  • Engage the support & cooperation of PWS and Automation Solutions Business Units to effectively meet customer requirements and proactively drive problem resolution 
  • Work with all Emerson Automation Solutions organizations to identify and maximize business opportunities 
  • Participate in strategic market planning to ensure coordination & activities are consistent with business Unit objectives 
  • Develop & present business development action plans and pursuit funnel as required. Including recommendations for new technology/services and potential acquisitions needed to increase revenue opportunities
  • Interact with Marketing and Marketing Communications to ensure the necessary level of business development support is achieved

WHO YOU ARE:You adjust communication content and style to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders. You take a proactive approach to shape and influence stakeholder expectations. You work through formal and informal channels to build broad-based relationships and support. 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in engineering, direct sales/marketing or business development in power market, and software solutions and or process control products 
  • Willingness and ability to up to 30% (Post COVID restrictions)
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Expert knowledge of combined cycle power plant operations
