If you are an INFORMATION SYSTEMS professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our SIDNEY, OH location, you will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to production support of our manufacturing execution systems, leading all aspects of computer, label printer, scan gun and scan station setup and support.  Additionally, you will analyze production line issues, resolve them or coordinate the appropriate response team to resolve the issues. IT security is paramount and Emerson's Enterprise IT will provide the standards and oversite.We will work together, allowing you to gain the experience and confidence to become the first line of IT support.

  • Plant PC/Hardware/Test equipment troubleshooting and support
  • First call for hardware issues diagnostics
  • Initial Triage and Problem Determination
  • Application related issues = contact Application Owner
  • Local infrastructure (i.e. server, switches) or accessories = contact Enterprise IT Portal or Service Delivery Manager  
  • Production line test machines diagnostics coordination
  • Support the MRO vending machines
  • Coordination of hardware installation with Enterprise IT for routine upgrades and replacements
  • Label Printers, Shop Printer - Configure and troubleshoot
  • Scan Guns - Configure and troubleshoot
  • Plant project support
  • Work with Enterprise IT for scoping and requirements i.e. final process, configuration and control upgrade,  assist with line, plant network drops, power (coordinate with maintenance), Workstation stands, unique system requirement definitions, etc.  
  • Coordinate with platform/Enterprise IT services for purchasing and configuration of project hardware following Emerson standards
  • Accountability for unique plant applications, databases, and interfaces
  • LiveLoad support
  • First call application issue diagnostics, configurations, coordination of platform support, troubleshoot applications, scanning systems, manufacturing line technology (scanners, monitors, sensors) 
  • Basic PLC support
  • Plant on-Prem application servers and applications
  • Test equip measurement data
  • Gauge computers
  • Production scheduling etc.
  • Bi-directional conduit between Plant, Platform, and Enterprise IT

WHO YOU ARE:You analyze issues to define the problem accurately before resolving the issue or calling appropriate resources.  You are able to quickly adapt to a changing environment and priorities in order to support the production line.  You have the ability to learn new things quickly and apply to support the business. You apply your IT systems knowledge to help improve processes or change processes for the better-using technology.  You will be a trusted resource in the plant for others in explaining, solving problems, and helping the operation. 


  • Bachelor degree in Information Technology or related field AND a minimum two (2) years experience in the information technology field with emphasis on :

    •  IT Helpdesk support and troubleshooting
    •  Understanding of basic business processes - materials, production 
    •  Data communications
    •  Windows operating system, SQL server environments

  • Solid problem solving and diagnostic skills
  • Able to communicate with technical and non-technical personnel
  • Must have a strong appetite for quickly learning new technologies and must be able to quickly adapt to changes
  • Ability to travel up to 5% for the position.
