If you are a control systems professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based out of our Emerson Innovation Center in Austin, Texas, you will get to combine automation system expertise and consultative selling skills to help end users plan and modernize their automation infrastructure and achieve their business goals. This role supports a rapidly growing business and is a great chance to be part of a dynamic team with global responsibility. AS A MODERNIZATION CONSULTANT YOU WILL: 


  • Serve as the global point person for PLC modernization and integration subject matter expertise
  • Support Emerson’s global sales account leaders as a technical subject matter expert in competitive displacement pursuits
  • Help customers plan their brownfield system modernization journey
  • Develop marketing content and demonstrations
  • Present our system migration solutions to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Perform onsite opportunity assessments
  • Consult with our project execution teams
  • Help plan and develop new tools and solutions, working as program manager and helping manage the roadmap for Emerson’s integration technology platform

 

WHO YOU ARE:

You are tech savvy but have the business insight to know when and where technology is best applied. You are a self-starting professional who can manage projects, build a strategy, and execute a plan. You are a comfortable and skilled communicator that can craft a message and back it up with technical chops.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering degree
  • Eight (8) years relevant experience
  • Five (5) years of experience in planning and executing control systems modernization projects
  • Detailed understanding of multiple PLC vendor architectures (Rockwell, Modicon, Siemens, Schneider)
  • Experience with and ability to integrate remote I/O, PLCs, and DCS with a variety of technologies (Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, etc.)
  • Experience with capital project planning processes (FEL1/2, FEED, etc.)

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  


  • Experience with the DeltaV DCS and integration methods
  • Good understanding of operations, finance, and marketing
  • Experience developing business cases and justification for projects
  • Experience presenting to an executive level audience
