Applied Research Associates, Inc. is looking for a Mid-Level Modeling and Simulation Engineer who has a significant desire to develop software, learn programming best practices, and help strengthen our national security. As part of our Advanced Modeling & Simulation Systems team in Raleigh, NC, you will support our growing business in the areas of GIS, physics-based simulation, and geometric modeling.
Our work focuses on modeling a diverse range of phenomena including weapons effects, blast modeling, tunnel construction and design, structural modeling, structural response to blast loads, structural collapse, and equipment response. Your day-to-day work will consist of software development, software testing, and engineering verification & validation. Structural characterization and design (buildings and tunnels) is a core part of our research. You will be part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team-based environment developing algorithms that provide optimal solutions that meet design constraints, geotechnical constraints, and physical space requirements.
