Operations Supervisor at US Ecology provides supervision of recycling process activities including inspection, assessment, processing, documentation, and disposition of raw materials and product which are received into or shipped from the facility.
Day in the Life
While no two days are the same, you can typically expect to:
Supervise and participate in the activities of operations personnel, including but not limited to:
Operate a forklift
Inspect/analyze material coming in
Offload drums, boxes, totes, bulk, etc. and store in an organized and safe manner
Operate mechanical recycling equipment
Maintain operating records
Perform general housekeeping and light maintenance of equipment and site
Receive, review, and sign off on manifests
Perform daily inspections of facility and equipment
Oversee procurement of inventory, compliance, and maintenance supplies
Make decisions in-line with achieving operational key performance indicators
Ensure all personnel abide by all safety rules and procedures
Train facility personnel relating to processing procedures
Complete other duties as assigned
What you need to apply
3-5 years of experience in an industrial setting
Knowledge and understanding of current hazardous waste treatment storage and disposal facility (TSDF) practices preferred.
Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Comfortable wearing a respirator and other PPE as needed
Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening
