Asset Reference Data Services (ARDS)

ARDS was created with the mission to help improve the quality, integrity, and reliability of the firm's critical data covering the Instrument and Pricing domains and sits within Securities Services. The organization's objectives are to deliver business impact through fit-for-purpose data, improve data capabilities across multiple lines of businesses (LOBs), implement data controls, and deliver reference data. ARDS establishes expectations that drive consistent data governance practices, develops technologies and processes to support data governance capabilities, partners with LOBs to embed data governance best practices and capabilities, and ensures sustainability by refining, measuring, and improving the ability to manage data.

Within ARDS the Instrument and Pricing Reference Data Operations teams provide high quality Reference Data to its subscribers from major external market providers under a single operating model. Asset prices and instrument attributes are sourced, validated, mastered and distributed via J.P. Morgan's strategic Reference Data architecture and is used for trading, risk management, fund valuation, settlement and regulatory reporting.

Role Description

The Instrument PMO lead will provide governance & oversight across the full lifecycle of the Instrument Data portfolio of programs and projects to drive transparency, control, and consistency in project delivery standards. In partnership with our leaders and project managers, the PMO lead will support the tracking & management of the Instrument Data portfolio, including process management, tooling, quality reviews, status reporting, risk/issue identification & escalation.

The responsibilities for this role spans three main functions of the PMO: People, Process and Platform.


  • People

    • Partner with "Functional Leads" (single points of contact for each asset class) and Project Managers to provide key updates & drive needed action on the portfolio and/or specific projects
    • Lead and/or support communication & training strategies to drive clear expectations & understanding of PMO standards across PM community (i.e., Community of Practice, standing Functional Lead meetings, SharePoint, Symphony); identify & implement opportunities to engage relevant CDO/Chief Data Officers & Tech partners; assess & implement PMO best practices from across JPMC
    • Engage with senior ARDS leaders to manage & communicate the Instrument Data portfolio
    • Partner with ARDS leads & Technology colleagues to integrate relevant project delivery status into broader Data Governance reporting, minimize redundant reporting, ensure consistent messaging and expose risks to successful, timely project delivery
    • Drive results through leadership, communication & influence


  • Process

    • Lead and/or support critical PMO governance processes, including: new project initiation, change control, closure and status reporting
    • Lead and/or support the definition, implementation & management of PMO standards for what "good" project management looks like
    • Lead and/or support facilitating key portfolio governance forums across leaders, CDOs and Technology partners to highlight risks/issues and solutions
    • Partner with Instrument Data Functional Leads and Project Managers to ensure high quality status reporting through accurate & complete milestone, dependenc y and RAID management.
    • Lead and/or support project resourcing and cost estimates to drive transparency and support cost allocations to LOBs
    • Lead and/or support regular capture & production of PMO metrics and regular executive updates
    • Identify & implement opportunities to optimize PMO processes and drive efficiency


  • Platform

    • Create, manage & reconcile key project details across PMO tooling ecosystem (SharePoint, MyPM etc)
    • Lead and/or support resource management in appropriate tools (i.e., missing time, forecasting, onboarding, off boarding)
    • Manage and/or support entitlements access across PMO tooling ecosystem
    • Lead and/or support tactical tooling enhancements
    • Lead and/or support analysis, identification and on/off boarding to new strategic PMO tooling

Qualifications


  • 10+ years of Project Management & Business Analysis experience in a combined business, operations and technology environment within the Financial Services industry or demonstrated relevant experience
  • Proactive/self-starter with the ability to deliver value-added support to business partners in a dependable, timely and accurate manner
  • Results-oriented, flexible individual who can easily and efficiently transition across topics and disciplines. Adept at multi-tasking and meeting deadlines in high-pressure environment
  • Advanced communication skills and the ability to synthesize work products into executive summaries and/or briefs and reports
  • A proven ability to take the initiative while building partnerships
  • Ability to define and track project deliveries through to implementation
  • Controls/Risk management focus - Ensure we remain adaptable and responsive to the changing regulatory landscape
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Microsoft Excel; Word, PowerPoint) and SharePoint are required. Additional "bonus" technical skills include Tableau and JIRA
