As one of the world's leading investment management companies, J.P. Morgan Asset Management ("JPMAM") is a major client of many counterparties and brokers. The funds and accounts that we manage on behalf of our underlying clients pay a substantial amount of both implicit and explicit commissions and fees (typically referred to as 'wallet') to these counterparties. In order to continue to develop and strengthen our relationships and maximize the partnership between our firm and external counterparties, we have taken a holistic view of how we manage our broker relationships and wallet across all lines of business within JPMAM (Equities, Fixed Income, Global Liquidity, Alternatives, Solutions). The Senior Broker Relationship Manager (BRM) is responsible for creating firm-wide transparency around our broker relationships and engaging with senior stakeholders both internally and at our top sell side firms on AM-wide priorities. The role of the BRM will have the following core components:

  • Work with senior business leads from x-AM internal product groups to develop a broad and deep understanding of the nature of our major counterparty relationships and objectives within each business.
  • Identify opportunities of increased engagement with sell side firms that will be beneficial to the JPMAM client business (cost saves, investment opportunities, financing needs, liquidity provision, etc.) and drive forward/reinforce these with brokers.
  • Liaise with senior relationship managers and business heads at our leading counterparties to develop a

closer understanding of their business strategy and touchpoints. Extract information from these engagements to make impactful connections between JPMAM and these broker firms.

  • Run OC-Level meetings with senior executives at side counterparties with targeted agenda aligned to JPMAM management priorities. Plan and organize these and other internal and external meetings to drive forward various AM business initiatives.
  • Develop working understanding of revenue calculation methodology and broker relationship sentiment across the organization. Collate reports and quantitative and qualitative data from multiple different business lines and produce/present executive summaries for use by senior executives.
  • Work with technology teams to systematize provision of information and reporting.
  • Develop, coordinate, and execute projects across Asset Management that align with the BRM objectives.
  • Serve as a centralized escalation point for material issues with brokers impacting client business.


  • Bachelor's degree in business studies/economics/finance/math/natural sciences. The candidate may have other professional qualifications (legal, accounting) or otherwise have attained/be studying towards full CFA certification.
  • 10+ years of experience working in an asset management or sell side organization, preferably within a Relationship Management, Sales, Corporate Strategy, or Business Management function.
  • Knowledge of financial markets (Equities, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, Derivatives, Alternatives, etc), and understanding of how revenue calculations work across each of these business lines.
  • Expertise in PowerPoint: Creating and editing presentations for senior meetings.
  • Strong reporting skills: Highly capable with Excel plus Tableau/Spotfire/QlikView.


  • Accustomed to interacting with senior level executives. Strong relationship building and influencing skills, proven ability to collaborate constructively with senior colleagues to achieve common objectives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional and polished presentation style. Ability to deliver messages around complex business requirements in a high level and impactful way.
  • Able to deal with highly sensitive data and subject matter with tact and discretion.
  • Proven 'self-starter' who can manage interactions independently and drive projects to completion.
  • Understanding of investment banking and/or broker-dealer balance sheet & transaction flow.
