The Corporate Responsibility (CR) Division is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm's CR agenda by crafting goals, policies and initiatives that align with and support the firm's business strategies, reflect our values and support the communities where we do business. The Division includes Global Philanthropy, Community Engagement, Global Government Relations, Research & Policy and Sustainable Finance.

Community Engagement supports CR's mission by building enduring, authentic relationships with key stakeholders to support the firm's long-term success and drive positive, lasting community-centered impact.

Community Engagement is seeking a Campaign Director, based in Washington, DC. The position will craft and execute national political engagement strategies based on an understanding of the interplay between issues impacting communities and financial services. The strategies will increase awareness for the firm's presence, identify key national trends and emerging issue areas for engagement and promote dialogue between the firm and key stakeholders.

The role will work closely with Community Engagement's market-based teams and key internal partners from Corporate Responsibility, Diversity & Inclusion and lines of business. The position will apply a campaign-style approach to strengthen the firm's position to drive inclusive economic growth through local engagement. The role will report to the Head of Community Engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Create and execute campaigns to increase engagement opportunities and proactively position the firm
  • Build awareness and visibility of the firm's community activities internally and externally
  • Work closely with colleagues in Corporate Responsibility, lines of business, Diversity & Inclusion, to proactively address issues raised by community partners
  • Represent Community Engagement priorities and strategies in key internal discussions and decision points
  • Manage Community Engagement consultants and serve as point for social and political events and risk mitigation
  • Serve as central liaison for team's engagement on the firm's Racial Equity Commitment in priority markets
  • Serve a central liaison for project management and represent team on cross-firm initiatives
  • Represent the firm through speaking engagements, to internal and external audiences, including panels, speeches and welcome remarks, both virtually and in-person
  • Provide analysis on key issues to help inform the direction of the firm's resources and investments
  • Identify strategic alliances and relationships to support Corporate Responsibility and firm-wide objectives
  • Act as strategic advisor to the firm's lines of business and to nonprofit partners on driving a racial equity agenda that aligns to our CR and firm-wide values

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have an awareness of the unique social and political issues in communities, an ability to make strategic connections between issues and stakeholders and a keen understanding of the policy and political environment to advance the firm's priorities. Other qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 8 years work experience and relevant experience in campaigns, community engagement, or public sector
  • Ability to build consensus across peers and business groups
  • Experience managing relationships with senior executive stakeholders
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to represent the firm in diverse forums, with community leaders, advocates and influential stakeholders
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
  • Integrity and strong work ethic
  • Powerpoint and Excel skills
  • Creative, flexible and collaborative with an ability to work in a team-oriented environment; demonstrates a high degree of initiative; results-oriented, high level of attention to detail and deadlines
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills; personal presence to represent the firm in diverse forums and organizational relationships

Frequent regional travel expected for regional business planning, execution and in-market issues.
