Job Description:

The Treasury & Asset Liability Management (ALM) Associate will be a key member of a team that is responsible for balance sheet management across the Asset & Wealth Management business. The candidate will focus on a variety of areas, including: interest rate risk, market risk and hedging exposures using derivatives (futures/swaps), funding/investment decisions and portfolio analytics of the deposit, wholesale loan, and mortgage portfolios. This position will provide an opportunity to make an impact to the bottom line and provide exposure to senior management through the following responsibilities:


  • Analyzing and decomposing the Global Private Bank deposit book with a key focus on predicting client interest rate sensitivity and the liquidity of the portfolio in a time of stress
  • Develop and refine hedging strategies to mitigate market risk for portfolios of equity and fixed income products
  • Partnering with Corporate Treasury to review and understand AWM's earnings at risk and basis point value (bpv) exposure in various interest rate scenarios
  • Working with Technology teams to onboard and enhance processes in strategic technology builds
  • Liaise with Corporate Treasury and the Chief Investment Office to drive investment and funding decisions as well as developing portfolio strategies across the business
  • Assess the balance sheet impact of new business initiatives of Asset & Wealth Management
  • Discuss liquidity, ALM risk management, market conditions and fixed income hedge activities/strategies with senior management

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience; Liquidity, ALM, Fixed Income, Deposit, Markets experience a plus
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong experience with Excel, familiarity with Tableau, Alteryx, and/or Python a plus
  • Ability to work with large data sets a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and intellectually-demanding environment
  • Team oriented and strong work ethic
