Launch your career on the Consumer Regulatory Law (CRL) team where you will work across the firm to advise both business and legal clients on regulatory compliance. The FCRA role is part of the CRL team, which provides legal support to all of the CCB LOBs and firmwide for key consumer protection laws including: ADA, UDAAP, SCRA, MLA and FCRA. In this role you will be advising on all aspects of legal, regulatory and compliance matters related to the Fair Credit Reporting Act and Regulation V with primary focus on credit furnishing, credit disputes, and identity theft.

The CRL Team is looking for an attorney who is collaborative, inquisitive, flexible, embraces a growth mindset, and exhibits grounded judgment in novel situations. The ideal candidate will have: strong analytical and organizational skills, great judgment, the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision; the ability to interact with and influence across departments and job levels; and an ownership mentality who values teamwork and collaboration.

Job Responsibilities :


  • Supporting and advising business clients, legal, risk, and compliance with laws and policies relating to the FCRA, Regulation V, furnishing, and disputes
  • Providing legal support to committees and forums involving FCRA and credit furnishing, dispute management, and reporting issues and risks
  • Supporting and advising the firm on regulatory matters involving credit furnishing, credit disputes, and identity theft
  • Monitoring legal and regulatory developments in the area of credit furnishing and advise on new developments
  • Resolving various issues that may arise in the context of FCRA, including advice and strategy on litigation and escalated customer complaints
  • Supporting special projects as needed

Qualifications

Education/Licensure/Experience:


  • JD or educational equivalent required. Attorney candidates must be in compliance with all relevant licensing requirements including the requirements of the jurisdiction where the role will be located prior to commencement of employment.
  • All candidates for roles in the Legal department must successfully complete a conflicts of interest clearance review prior to commencement of employment.
  • Must have at least 5 years of litigation/compliance/regulatory experience; consumer financial services experience preferred

  • Ability to recognize issues that may require escalation and special handling
  • Strong sense of honesty and ethics as an officer of the court and a representative protecting the reputation of JPMC

Preferred Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience with FCRA or other consumer finance laws (e.g.SCRA, UDAAP, ADA, etc.)
  • Regulatory or compliance experience
