Position Title: Door and Hardware Specialist
Department: Door Fab
Reports To: Production Manager
Classification: Non Exempt
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Create Door Fabrication detail packages for Door Fabrication Department from customer quote requests, sales orders and shop drawings.
Check all data provided on a given project to ensure that the project is detailed accurately. (ACCURACY IS CRITICALLY IMPORTANT)
Check for hardware compatibility with doors and frames detailed.
Order vendor hardware for detailed projects.
Coordinate the receipt of vendor hardware.
Work closely with the shop to handle problems or questions that may arise on door orders.
Answer questions from customers and internal personnel regarding doors, hardware, hardware, etc.
Work with engineering department regarding door and frame detailing. Check door hardware schedules on shop drawings as needed.
Regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of your job.
Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements
To be considered for a Door and Hardware Specialist, the following conditions must be met:
• Working knowledge of computers and willingness to learn computer software programs provided by Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope.
• Working knowledge of aluminum doors and door hardware a plus.
• Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Good math skills.
• Customer service oriented.
• Must be motivated and willing to apply yourself to learn the skills required to perform the job.
• Experience in door fabrication a plus.
• Metal and hardware working knowledge.
• Must be able to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to multi-task
• Computer literate
• Experience in the Glass or Construction industry is a plus.
