ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Manager of Solution Architects leads a team that focuses on solution design and build work. Solution Architects are experienced consultants and are depended on by our customers for technical vision and proactive and strategic advice.
Work as part of an overall delivery team to deliver a legendary customer experience on Salesforce Marketing Cloud and/or Sales/Service Cloud.
Manage a team of 3-7 solution architects with varying degrees of experience. This is a critical role that is tasked with the health, happiness and effectiveness of their team.
Provide career guidance, helping employees to identify and work towards career goals.
Set and manage performance expectations with the team.
Assist with project staffing, ensuring the workload of the team is balanced.
Onboard and train new team members.
Managers carry a billable workload as well, performing the same duties as a solution architect:
Lead consultative engagements with customers on business goals and challenges.
Architect a detailed solution tailored to customers' goals, taking into account their current and future-state environment.
Effectively communicate and present the design, positive impacts, and limitations of proposed solutions to customers.
Approach each customer as unique, ensuring that their environment, skill set, internal processes, and business structure are accounted for in overall designs.
Build and fully test the solutions as designed, working with customers to iterate through modifications and revisions.
Document design and/or maintenance processes as necessary.
Provide in-depth training as appropriate to ensure customers are self-sustaining.
Support sales teams in opportunities by validating solutions and estimating effort.
Collaborate with other team members to validate solutions, solve technical challenges, and share knowledge.
Occasional travel, potentially up to 25%, to client locations throughout the U.S.
Perform other duties required and assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Ability to understand the diverse personalities of the team and to manage each team member in a way that is best for them.
Comfort having tough or sensitive conversations around salary, workload, expectations, and areas of improvement.
Ability to balance the needs of a team with the needs of clients.
Managers should be experienced at a level similar to a Senior Solution Architect:
Experience going deep into clients' current processes to fully understand the nature of their business, while identifying how and why their business goals are critical.
Experience developing technical solutions and designs tailored to each client, based on their business goals and overall structure.
Experience designing and delivering a training program tailored to clients' needs. Training should be appropriate for individuals at varying levels within a client's organization and with varying degrees of technical abilities.
Ability to monitor release notes, incorporate platform changes into existing processes, and identify ways to use new Sales, Service and Marketing Cloud features.
Experience mentoring individuals.
Comfort with engagements of any size.
Ability to coordinate with other Solution Architects to effectively offload or load balance work.
