The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As an Advanced Research Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Leveraging expertise to develop and advance technologies that can be used for new product commercialization opportunities in the nonwovens area.


• Lead multidisciplinary research teams for technology and application development, utilizing your leadership, scientific, mathematical, and computational skills


• Documenting, communicating, and disseminating research results through the framework of 3M's new technology and product introduction programs 


• Providing technical expertise to support manufacturing operations

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Ph.D. degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution


• Five(5) years of experience leading technology, product, or process development in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Ph.D. degree or higher in Materials Science or Polymer Science


• Seven(7) years of materials research / development and scaleup / commercialization experience


• Demonstrated experience in translating customer insights to product features


• Experience in statistical analysis and continuous process improvement


• Experience in IP generation and portfolio management

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
