This position will be focusing primarily on our Motive Power applications, which include industrial lift trucks and pallet jacks, rail equipment, mining equipment, and airline ground support equipment. Some of the motive power brands include Hawker, Ironclad, General Battery, and Fiamm. Wherever there is a need for motive power, EnerSys offers the perfect energy solution.


Job Purpose


Manage and ensure the purchasing of materials, services, and/or equipment for the assigned purchasing portfolio, within the set procurement policies and guidelines, to ensure an uninterrupted and timely supply at optimum cost within specifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Reviews customer orders on a daily basis

  • Contact potential vendors, perform reference checks, review quotations and evaluate each purchase requisition for the most appropriate methods of procurement

  • Review purchase orders for accuracy

  • Establish priorities for assigned commodities with key vendors and ensure priorities are maintained

  • Maintain effective communication with both internal and external customers

  • Interface with all levels of management both internally and externally

  • Continuously strive to reduce the cost of assigned commodities

  • Interact with engineering department to assist in the sourcing of materials, with respect to cost, quality, and availability of materials

  • Generate reports per specified processes that measure key buyer performance metrics

Qualifications


Minimum


  • 2-3+ years experience in a similar position

  • At minimum High School Diploma, preferred Associate's or bachelor's degree in procurement or a related field

  • Knowledge of software programs, including MS Office, etc.

Preferred


  • Foreign language is a plus, English a must

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.

  • Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment.

  • Knowledge of MRP and ERP

  • 2-4 year college degree or higher in business or related field
