Job Purpose


Directs financial activities of the Warrensburg Plant in compliance with Corporate policies and Accounting guidelines. Provides data and input to guide management in making strategic financial decisions for the Warrensburg Plant and DC operations. Establishes and monitors internal controls in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Standards (GAAP), Corporate guidelines and financial audits. Lead on-site Accounting position reporting to the Plant Manager, with accountability to the Corporate Finance department.


Essential Duties



  • Directs financial activities of the Warrensburg Plant & DC under Corporate policies and guidelines. Provides management with accurate financial information to measure and guide Plant operations. Uses data and reporting tools to suggest strategies to minimize costs, improve departmental productivity and Plant efficiency. Collaborates with and presents information to managers, Corporate executives, and Corporate Accounting staff. Ensures a high level of confidentiality related to Plant and Company financial data.


  • Issues Plant financial statements, oversees closing of the books on a monthly and annual basis and ensures the accurate and timely processing of operational, financial and cost accounting information as required by management. Develops strategies to protect Company assets, establishes internal controls and provides information to internal and external auditors.


  • Oversees general ledger activities including payroll, expense and account reconciliation and variance analysis. Monitors and reviews accounting reports from various software applications for accuracy and scope of data.


  • Oversees and prepares the annual Plant budget as well as monthly forecasts for both operational and statistical projections based on accurate financial data.


Qualifications



  • Ability to communicate confidently in a team environment and at the corporate level.

  • Ability to operate in a highly confidential manner with executive access to manufacturing control systems, schedules/production levels, product and component cost information, vendor performance data, material specifications, engineering drawings and documentation, defect records and corrective actions and payroll information.

  • Demonstrable self-initiative with a clear understanding of overall Company goals and objectives.

  • Ability to perform self-directed work and assist Accounting Department personnel as a leader and resource.

  • Ability to analyze data, recognize developing trends and prioritize/strategize solutions quickly and accurately.

  • Advanced skill in analyzing data and solving problems.

  • High-level of understanding of accounting functions and demonstrable mathematic skill with the priority of accuracy.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, Corporate visitors, vendors, auditors, customers, and the public.

  • Ability to cooperate as a member of the Plant management team, offering accounting expertise, providing "what ifs", and other data to represent the financial perspective.
