The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Value Stream Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Developing and maintaining standard operating procedures, work instructions and test methods




• Participating in weekly process and product trend review meetings




• Initiating and leading Lean Six Sigma improvement projects




• Implementing programs to improve safety, product quality, service and product cost




• Engaging with 3M suppliers




• Cooperating with global manufacturing teams to deliver business results




• Providing flexibility support for round-the-clock manufacturing operations as needed

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution




• Two (2) years of experience in R&D, manufacturing, process and/or product engineering in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Minimum two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment




• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification




• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills




• Strong organizational and communication skills




• Effective project management skills with proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget




• Cross-functional team leadership experience

Location: Cottage Grove, MN

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.
