The R&D Technician uses his/her understanding of Science to perform the basic and critical experimental work of day-to-day applied research, including generating and reporting data. Their work is typically "hands on", in a lab, in a plant or pilot plant, on a computer, or with vendors/ contractors. These tasks are a vital part of the process of evaluating new hypotheses and formula/product/process/packaging designs. They work within established procedures with a moderate degree of supervision and have no supervisory responsibilities but manage their own workload and support other team members.

Ensure working order for lab equipment
Safely operate process equipment
Follow all J.M. Smucker, health and environmental compliance requirements, and all OSHA Safety rules; comply with company GMP/GLP and other Food Safety/QA requirements
Accurately weigh out the ingredients required for experiments, transfer them to the Process Lab for processing and convert the ingredients to finished goods, per written instructions in Process Lab Laboratory Run Request Forms
Uses team work and communication skills to exchange information and share work load

Food processing area with working knowledge of food safety regulations
Food Manufacturing and Canning Operations
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma with minimum six (6) years of directly relevant experience or
Associate/Vocational Degree with minimum four (4) years of directly relevant experience
