Job Summary

The Sr Financial Analyst will be responsible for identifying and driving documentation and process improvements, maintaining data integrity and performing financial support activities for Technology Services. The role is expected to develop relationships with business and technology users to learn the business processes for financial support. They will play a pivotal role in identifying and implementing process, tool, and measurement opportunities to improve the team’s financial acumen, as well as training technology and business users on how to engage to improve the user experience with financials.

Key Accountabilities

•Coordinate daily operational activities and measure process quality and compliance. •Employ statistical methods to analyze and configure applications to improve the customer experience, provide practical solutions to problems, and add business value. •Identify, evaluate, and implement automation and continuous improvement initiatives in support of Vistra financial policies and procedures as well as GAAP rules. •Partner with business users, process owners and Technology teams to ensure effective financial results. •Successfully deliver cross-team initiatives related to business cases, supported by the team. •Drive positive working relationships with technology teams, business teams, and vendors in order to promote alignment between functions.•Design and create metrics for improved measurement and reporting. •Create and update documentation.•Understand and apply Vistra value drivers to identify and deliver innovative value creation ideas. •Train the TS and end user community to increase adoption and communication of TS financial processes. •Apply understanding of financial principles to team initiatives.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

•7-10 years professional experience in a technology or business field•Professional certifications a plus (e.g. CPA)•Demonstrated ability to lead, track, and communicate status of multiple cross-team initiatives. •Proven ability to identify, evaluate, and implement opportunities for automation and continuous improvement of financial systems and processes. •Demonstrated ability to be trustworthy and dependable •Ability to learn quickly, be self motivated to improve knowledge and tackle new challenges •Exceptional organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail required•Skilled at creating executive-level communications and presenting to and interacting with leaders•Must demonstrate an energetic, hands-on, enthusiastic, results-oriented approach as a team player, capable of adding significant value to the existing team.•Must be comfortable sharing ideas and finding innovative ways to resolve challenges •Proven ability to build support among peers and create relationships with peers and stakeholders.•Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills Key Metrics•Process compliance including Vistra financial policies and procedures and GAAP rules•Financial results delivery proficiency•Financial analysis and trending, including business cases analysis•Stakeholder satisfaction

  • Prepare annual, quarterly and monthly budget/forecast

  • Lead/support Month end close and variance analysis/reporting

  • Perform SOX compliance and reporting
